Windows 10 Frustrations with Windows Update: Missing Favorites and Edge Questions

I'v just spent well over an hour with a windows update , when i get online i have to answer lets of questions about edge . Like when you first load windows ( cortana ) and the like , all my favourites are missing . All the folders are neat and tidy ,who thinks up this shit . Some days i don't bother switching the computer on at all . I can't insert any images .
 
I'v just had another windows update , thats wiped all my favs once again . I had to use cortana like a new windows update , does windows 7 have updates .
