Team Meeting for May 23, 2014: Addressing Outstanding Issues to Improve Quality of Service
What is WindowsForum.com?
WindowsForum.com is one of the Internet's most important web assets. With an open, non-partisan community, operating independently, and separate from Microsoft, members retain creative control and authorship of their messages. The forum community allows technology enthusiasts from around the world to convene in public, have their questions prioritized, and answered. For nearly a decade, WindowsForum.com has existed in the form of winvistaforums.com, windows7forums.com, and windows8forums.com. Following am ambitious project to merge these sites, WindowsForum.com lives on as one large community.
About the meeting:
In this meeting, forum managers Ross Cameron (
@kemical), Pat Cooke (
@patcooke), Mike Fara (
@Mike), and Joe Stackhouse (
@Josephur) discuss solutions to a growing number of issues.
Why?
As part of our forum moderation rules, we are obliged to hold at least two general staff meetings per year. Whenever possible, we make these meetings public, in order to illicit feedback and provide a general idea of what our priorities are. While many more meetings are held throughout the year, our two official meetings are usually transparent, candid discussions, and designed to involve our members and viewers in a unique way.
As our community continued to grow, we continue to discuss the new challenges facing the forums, our members, and our team. We continue to look for ways to improve the user experience, address issues of great importance we face, and allow our viewers and members to take an active role in this process.
Specifics:
In this meeting we discuss trademark issues related to our mobile applications, a tutorial working group, the state of personal computers with Windows vs. competing operating systems, audience retention, and maladies/censorship related to the Google AdSense and Webmaster Tools 'community guidelines', and a potential loss of active members.
While some of our administrators, moderators, and members continue to be recognized by Microsoft Corporation for their contributions to the greater Windows Community, and remain active in such programs, WindowsForum.com is not owned or operated by Microsoft Corporation.
