If you think GPU-Shark is too 'light' for your needs then worry not because an updated version of GPU Caps Viewer, which offers a heap of graphics card info (specs, temps, driver version, API support) plus OpenGL & OpenCL demos, has now been released.

GPU Caps Viewer 1.8.8 is available for download here and it features the following changes/additions:

- New: added the support of GTX 465 and 460.

- New: a button to launch an advanced GPU monitoring tool has been added in the first panel (GPU/CPU).

- New: in OpenGL panel, the number of GL and WGL extensions is displayed.

- New: added new subvendors: Zotac, Palit and Gigabyte.

- Change: OpenGL extensions are now fetched with the method described here

- Change: now the max values of CPU, memory and shader (shader: NV only) clocks and VDDC are displayed for Radeon and GeForce cards.

- Change: minor updates in the code of the OpenCL demos for a good working with latest NV and AMD drivers.

- Bugfix: in the first panel, only the features of first OpenCL device are displayed.

- Update: compiled with the latest version of ZoomGPU and GLEW.

Ready with an OpenGL 4.x-compliant card, or not, no matter, cause a new version of GPU Caps Viewer is here and it features a basic but relevant demo to showcase tessellation via OpenGL 4.

Beside the OGL 4 tessellation demo, the v1.9.0 release adds support for Nvidia's Tesla C2050 computing processor, provides links to OpenGL registry, and makes use of the debug bit in the creation of the OpenGL 3 or OpenGL 4 context.

Serving us something fresh just as the weekend closes in, JeGX has made available a new version of GPU Caps Viewer, the Windows tool that provides you with a heap of info about the API support of your graphics cards (and more).
Today's release is version 1.9.2 and it brings the following:
- New: added NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 in the database.
- Change: in OpenGL panel, the real OpenGL name is used for capabilities (ex: GL_MAX_LIGHTS or GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE).
- Bugfix: fixed a typo bug for the max texture buffer size: MTexels instead of MB.
- Change: GPU Shark updated to the 0.2.4 version. GPU Shark can be launched via the [Advanced GPU monitoring] button.

GPU Caps Viewer 1.10.0 Overview

The important feature of this version is related to OpenCL. In the previous versions, it was possible to select the compute device on which OpenCL kernels were executed. But there was a limitation: only the compute devices of the first OpenCL platform could be selected.

Now, this limitation no longer exists: you can select the platform you want and, for the selected platform, you can select a particular compute device (registry hacks are no longer needed).
