Hello,

I am a NOOB on this forum, Hello all, and I wonder if anyone can help me.

I have been using DivX when I had Vista on my old machine but now I have brought a new machine with windows 7 64bit, I thought Id upgrade my DivX package also to the latest one which is DivX 8 pro. But I cant get it to work. I have uninstalled it and re-installed it loads of times. The DivX plus player keeps crashing and it wont load any Divx files.

Have i done something wrong, do I need to download something else.

Cheers guys

James

Run as Administrator: Try installing and running the DivX software as an administrator. Right-click on the installation file and select "Run as Administrator." 4. Updated Codecs: Make sure you have the latest codecs installed. DivX files require specific codecs to play correctly. You can try installing the K-Lite Codec Pack, which includes a wide range of codecs for various video formats. 5. Video Player: If the DivX Plus player continues to crash, you can try using alternative media players like VLC Media Player or MPC-HC to play your DivX files. 6. DirectShow Filters: Ensure that DirectShow filters are properly installed. These filters are essential for the correct playback of media files. 7. Check for Errors: Look for any error messages that may provide more information about why the DivX Plus player is crashing. Event Viewer in Windows can sometimes offer insights into the issue. 8. Update Graphics Drivers: Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause playback issues with video files. 9. Technical Support: If none of the above solutions work, consider reaching out to DivX technical support for further assistance. They may have specific troubleshooting steps tailored to your issue. Try these steps and see if they help in resolving the problems you're facing with DivX 8 Pro on your Windows 7 64-bit machine. Let me know if you need further assistance!
