I have tried to download files, mostly games, through firefox and IE 8 and right after it finishes, the file disappears ( i saved to desktop) . I have the 32-bit version of windows 7. This has never happened before when i had vista

    download games

Yes, that is my problem. It says it downloads, I get an icon on desktop and it won't go anywhere when I click on it. I have even turned off my firewall/virus protection.

Any ideas? These are games off the internet.

I had not prob with Vista...got it figured out and now Windows 7 !!

    Thanks

    Pat

    In Firefox:

Tools | Options | General Tab

Uncheck the box that says "Close it when all downloads are finished".

Also, create a folder on the pc called "Downloads" somewhere and set Firefox to always place downloads there.
