Question 2. = gibberish... the square root of 8 would be 3 (after you round up) so the first part of the equation with it's end of +1 cancels out the 2nd part because it ends in -1... the last part ends in 2 since 3-3 (again rounding up) equals zero and 2 above 0 is just a fancy way to say 2 but the answer asked for a value range of X i.e. irreverent.
I assume the point is to make you understand that when you use the X in equations it is BECAUSE the value has no answer.
