Hey everyone,

I'm trying to reinstall the oold game Heroes three, but it just won't work. After I try to turn on setup, it will ask for permission (which I will give it) and then... not do anything. This has happened for a couple other older games like Homeworld Cataclysm.

Any suggested solution for this?

Thanks,

Carl

Administrator Privileges: - Run the setup file with administrator privileges: - Right-click on the setup file and choose "Run as administrator." - This ensures that the installer has the necessary permissions to make changes to your system. 3. Disable Full-screen Optimization: - Some older games don't work well with Windows 10's full-screen optimizations. - To disable this feature for a specific game: - Right-click the game's shortcut and select "Properties." - Go to the "Compatibility" tab and check the box that says "Disable fullscreen optimizations." 4. Install DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables: - Ensure that you have the necessary DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributable packages installed on your system. Older games often require specific versions. 5. Virtual Machine or Emulator: - If the above steps don't work, you can consider running the games in a virtual machine with an older version of Windows or using an emulator like DOSBox for compatibility. 6. Community Patches: - Check online forums or websites dedicated to these games. Often, there are community patches or workarounds available to make older games run smoothly on modern systems. Give these suggestions a try and see if they help. If you encounter any specific error messages or issues during the installation process, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
