Hello Curious,
To display folders like Calendar and Contacts in the folder list in classic Outlook, you can use the following steps to ensure these folders are visible. By default, they might be hidden from view, especially if you have the navigation pane set up to only show email folders.
To display folders like Calendar and Contacts in the folder list in classic Outlook, you can use the following steps to ensure these folders are visible. By default, they might be hidden from view, especially if you have the navigation pane set up to only show email folders.
Steps to Show Calendar and Contacts in the Folder List
- Open Outlook: Launch the Outlook application.
- Check the Navigation Pane:
- Look at the left-hand side of the Outlook window where the Navigation Pane is located. This area shows your email folders by default.
- Change Navigation Options:
- If you don’t see the Calendar and Contacts, click on the View tab in the Ribbon at the top.
- Select Folder Pane and then choose Normal or Minimized. This may help reveal additional folders.
- Customize Navigation Pane:
- Right-click anywhere in the Navigation Pane and select Navigation Pane Options.
- Make sure the Show folders in the navigation pane option is checked.
- You may also see options to customize which folders are displayed. Check if your Calendar and Contacts are listed there.
- Add Shortcuts:
- You can also create shortcuts for quicker access to these folders:
- In the Navigation Pane, click on Shortcuts (usually at the bottom).
- Drag and drop the Calendar and Contacts folders into the Shortcuts section. This allows you to access them quickly.
- You can also create shortcuts for quicker access to these folders:
- Verify Folder Visibility:
- Make sure you have expanded the appropriate sections in the Navigation Pane. Click on the arrows next to My Contacts or any other group to expand the view and see all folders.
Additional Tips:
- If you frequently access the Calendar and Contacts, consider pinning them or adding them to your Favorites (if you have that section enabled).
- Outlook may behave differently based on the version, so keep that in mind when following these steps.

I didn't understand your question because I don't even know if it was a human who wrote this or if it was something called AI, which I don't know what it is, and which rarely gets the questions I ask right. Is there any way you can show some decorum and stop posting in all caps on the titles? Do we need the AI for that as well?
Most of the time I read what is answered, and as I am human and intelligent and knowledgeable about computers I can resolve my question.
And what does it have to do with me capitalizing or lowercase titles? So it's not AI? You have an obligation to understand.
See if you refrain from sending warnings like this to clients who pay you to teach people and not to say such nonsense.
