When I right click on a folder and select "Share With", Homegroup does nt show on the drop down menu. The only item that appears is "Advanced Sharing". How do I share folders with the homegroup?

Thanx,

Randy

Randy, If you're unable to see the Homegroup option when you try to share a folder in Windows, it could be due to changes in more recent versions of Windows. Homegroup was a feature in Windows that allowed easy sharing of files and printers, but it has been deprecated starting from Windows 10 version 1803. Here's how you can share folders and files in Windows without using the Homegroup feature: 1. File Explorer Sharing: - Right-click on the folder you want to share and select "Properties." - Go to the "Sharing" tab and click on the "Share" button. - Choose the users or accounts you want to share the folder with and set their permissions. - Click "Add" to share the folder. - You can also use the "Advanced Sharing" option mentioned...

Network Sharing: - Ensure your network profile is set to private for sharing files. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Ethernet (or Wi-Fi) > Network profile. - Make sure that File and Printer sharing is turned on. You can do this in the Control Panel under Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings. 3. Accessing Shared Folders: - To access shared folders on other computers, you can navigate to the shared location by typing \\ComputerName\SharedFolderName in the File Explorer address bar. By following these steps, you should be able to share folders and files on your Windows computer without using the Homegroup feature. If you encounter any issues along the way or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
