I installed the new IntExp 9 under 64bit Win7.

It works but there are some cumbersome handling issues:

1.) When I download a file (by clicking on a link) at the bottom a small in-browser sub-window appears asking me what to do. I have explicitely to click on the "save" button to start the download.
Is there a way to auto-start all downloads (into the default download dir)?

2.) After successful download the mentioned sub window remains visible asking me what to do next.
Especially there is often a message as
"The publisher of xxxxxx.exe couldn't be verified"
How can I auto-close this sub-window?

Solution
To address the issues you are facing with Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7, you can try the following solutions:

Auto-Start Downloads into Default Directory

  1. Automatic Download Option: Unfortunately, Internet Explorer 9 does not have a built-in option to automatically start downloads without user interaction. However, you can enable the automatic prompting for file downloads using the following steps:
    • Open Internet Explorer.
    • Go to Tools > Internet Options.
    • In the Security tab, select the Internet zone.
    • Scroll down to the Downloads section.
    • Check the box next to Automatically prompt for file downloads if it is not already checked.
    • Click Apply and then OK...

      Auto-Close Publisher Verification Dialog

  2. Disabling Publisher Verification Prompt: To bypass the publisher verification prompt and automatically close the sub-window after a download, you can modify the browser settings:
    • Due to security measures, the publisher verification prompt is a security feature to ensure that you are aware of the potential risks associated with the downloaded file.
    • You can disable the publisher verification prompt, but it is not recommended for security reasons as it removes an important security feature.
    • To disable it, you can turn off the Internet Explorer Download Experience:
      • Press Windows Key + R, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter.
      • Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer.
      • Locate Internet Control Panel.
      • Find the setting Do not preserve zone information in file attachments and set it to Enabled.
      • Click Apply and then OK.

        Note:

        • Disabling security features like publisher verification is not recommended as it exposes your system to potential risks. It's important to exercise caution when downloading and installing files from the internet.
        • Consider using a more modern and secure browser like Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox as alternatives to Internet Explorer 9 for a better browsing experience and enhanced security features.
