Is it possible to have your laptop re-connect to a shared printer once the homegroup network connection has been re-established? For example, my laptop is with me on the road and connects to other networks. When I return home, my computer recognizes and automatically re-connects to the homegroup network. However, I then have the task of going to the control panel>device and printers>add printer to set-up the printer including the drivers and printing preferences every time.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

To automatically reconnect your laptop to a shared printer on your homegroup network whenever the network connection is re-established, you can follow these steps to set up the printer so that it remains connected: 1. Configure Printer Sharing: Make sure that the printer is shared on the network. This step ensures that your laptop can detect and connect to the shared printer when it's back on the homegroup network. 2. Install Printer Drivers Once: Install the printer drivers on your laptop for the shared printer when you are setting it up initially. Set Printer as Default: After installing the printer drivers, set the shared printer as the default printer on your laptop. This helps in maintaining the printer connection status. 4. Check Printer Settings: Confirm that the printer is set up correctly with the desired printing preferences. By following these steps, your laptop should automatically reconnect to the shared printer on your homegroup network without the need to manually add the printer each time the network connection is re-established. If you need detailed instructions on any of the steps mentioned above, feel free to ask!
