Solution
To address the issue with your screen contrast changing when playing videos in full-screen (.avi format) and reverting back once exiting full-screen mode, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

Possible Solutions:

  • Update Graphics Drivers:
  • Ensure your graphics drivers are up-to-date. Visit your device manufacturer's website or use Windows Update to check for the latest drivers.
  • Disable Automatic Brightness/Contrast Adjustments:
  • Go to your graphics control panel (NVIDIA Control Panel/AMD Catalyst Control Center/Intel Graphics Command Center).
  • Look for automatic brightness/contrast adjustments and disable them if enabled.
  • Adjust Video Player Settings:

  • Check video player settings for any video enhancement features that might be causing the contrast changes.
  • Adjust Windows Display Settings:
  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Disable or adjust any display setting related to brightness or contrast adjustments.
  • Disable Adaptive Brightness:
  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
  • Click on Change plan settings next to the current power plan.
  • Select Change advanced power settings and locate Adaptive Brightness under Display settings.
  • Check Monitor Settings:
  • If your monitor or laptop screen has built-in display settings, adjust them to see if the contrast issue is resolved.

Additional Tips:

  • Use a different video player to see if the issue persists.
  • Run a video player in windowed mode and check if the contrast issue occurs. By trying these steps, you can troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the auto-contrast adjustment issue while playing full-screen videos. If the problem persists, feel free to provide more details or specific system information for further assistance.
