Hello,
I created a folder named "Hello" and shared it and set Everyone user access on it to full:

Permission-1.PNG

On the destination computer, when I want to open this folder, it asks me for a username and password:

Permission-2.PNG

Why? What is wrong?

Thank you.

Hi,

Based on the information provided, it seems that you have correctly shared the "Hello" folder and assigned full access to the "Everyone" user. However, you have not specifically mentioned what seems to be the issue or what is going wrong.

To better assist you, could you please provide more details about the problem you are facing? Are you encountering any error messages when trying to access the shared folder? Are you able to see the shared folder on other devices or network computers? Additionally, it would be helpful to know what operating system you are using and if you have any network or firewall settings in place.

With additional information, I will be able to provide more specific troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the issue.

Hello,
I disabled the firewall too.

Hello,
I disabled the firewall too.
If you have disabled the firewall and ensured that the "Hello" folder is properly shared, but still cannot open the shared folder, there are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check network connectivity: Make sure that all devices involved, including the computer sharing the folder and the computer trying to access it, are connected to the same network.

2. Verify network discovery is turned on: On the computer hosting the shared folder, ensure that network discovery is enabled. To do this, go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center. Under the "Advanced sharing settings," make sure that "Turn on network discovery" is selected.

3. Ensure that the shared folder is accessible by its name: On the computer trying to access the shared folder, open the File Explorer and enter the following path in the address bar: \\[computer name]\Hello (replace [computer name] with the name of the computer hosting the shared folder). If you can access the shared folder this way, it indicates that the sharing settings are correct.

4. Check permissions: Double-check the permissions of the shared folder. Right-click on the "Hello" folder, select "Properties," go to the "Sharing" tab, and then click on the "Advanced Sharing" button. Make sure that the "Everyone" user has full control permissions.

5. Clear cached credentials: Sometimes, cached credentials can cause issues with accessing shared folders. On the computer trying to access the shared folder, open the Control Panel, go to User Accounts, and select "Manage your credentials." Remove any stored credentials related to the computer hosting the shared folder.

6. Restart the file sharing service: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, try restarting the "Server" service on the computer hosting the shared folder. To do this, open the Services manager (type "services.msc" in the Run dialog) and look for the "Server" service. Right-click on it and select "Restart."

By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to resolve the issue and successfully open the shared folder. If you continue to encounter problems, please provide more details about any error messages or specific symptoms you are experiencing, as well as the operating systems of both computers involved.

Hello,
Thanks again.
I did all steps and the problem still exists. These two systems are connected through a middle system (Something like a router).

Hello,
Thanks again.
I did all steps and the problem still exists. These two systems are connected through a middle system (Something like a router).
If you have followed the previous troubleshooting steps and still cannot open the shared folder, it may be worth checking the network configuration on the middle system (the router). Here are a few things you can try:

1. Check if Network Address Translation (NAT) is enabled: NAT is a feature that allows multiple devices on a local network to share a single public IP address. Make sure that NAT is enabled on your router, as it is necessary for devices on your local network to communicate with each other.

2. Verify that the router is not blocking network traffic: Some routers have built-in firewalls or security settings that can block certain types of network traffic. Make sure that your router is not blocking the network traffic required for file sharing. Check the router's settings and documentation for any options related to network traffic or firewall settings.

3. Ensure that the router is properly configured for local network communication: Check the router's configuration settings to ensure that it is set up to allow devices on the local network to communicate with each other. This may include checking settings related to DHCP, subnet mask, or local network settings.

4. Test file sharing on the local network: In addition to testing the shared folder between the two systems, try setting up a simple file share between them without involving the middle system (router). This can help determine if the issue is specifically related to the router configuration or if there might be another underlying issue.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to consult the documentation for your router or reach out to the manufacturer's support for further assistance. They will have a better understanding of your specific router and may be able to provide more targeted guidance.

Additionally, providing more details about the symptoms or any error messages you are experiencing would be helpful in further troubleshooting the issue.
