I would verify you have the latest driver from the computer manufacturers website, not Windows Updates. Also go into Device Manager > Network Adapters > (Right click your NIC) > properties > Advanced and make sure speed and duplex are on "Auto Negotiation". If it is you may want to try replacing your Ethernet cable. The reason being is the default behavior of a switch (the one part of your home router) that can operate at 1Gbps is if there is a problem it will auto negotiate to 100Mbps Half Duplex
