Hi, I'm looking for some advice on this problem, I've just installed a new monitor and it's working fine but all of my desktop icons are now corrupted with an overprint of a file icon. I've tried a system restore with no effect also tried altering the icon in properties but it stays the same, Ive run anti malware and anti virus but my computer is clean (as always). Any advice would be helpful, regards.
I found a post related to this problem which gave a link to a fix by replacing the icon cache.db file but when I ran it it couldn't find the icon cache file so it appears the reason for the problewm is the file is missing. Anybody know if this can be replaced without a reinstall?
Problem solved.
