When I try to run a file I in IE9 it downloads the file to some temp folder and when it tries to execute the file it returns an error!

When I cleared the C:\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\Local\Temp folder it worked once but the second time it did not!

Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you're encountering issues when trying to run a file in Internet Explorer 9 (IE9). The behavior you've described, where the file downloads to a temporary folder and then encounters an error upon execution, can be related to various factors. Here are a few suggestions to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
  1. Check File Integrity: Ensure that the file you are trying to run is not corrupted or incomplete. Redownloading the file from a trusted source might help.

  2. Internet Explorer Security Settings: Check the security settings in IE9. Sometimes, stringent security settings can prevent certain files from running.
  3. File Type Association: Make sure that the file type you're trying to run is associated with the correct program. In IE9, downloaded files may not have the proper associations set.
  4. Permissions: Check if you have the necessary permissions to execute files in the temporary folder.
  5. Update Internet Explorer: Considering that IE9 is an older version, updating to a newer version or using a different browser might also help in resolving the issue. Here's how you can further troubleshoot the issue:
    • Check the error message you receive when the file fails to execute.
    • Try running the file in a different browser or in a newer version of Internet Explorer (if possible).
    • If the issue persists, you may need to provide more details about the error message or any other relevant information for further assistance.
Feel free to provide more details or error messages if you need specific help with this problem!
