Hello,
I have a small peer2peer network and I use 1 PC where I store my documents. Everything is networking well except attaching files for my mail on one computer.
Lets call the one I use for storage, PC1. On PC2, when I try to attach a doc from PC1, PC1 doesn't show up. I can see PC3 and PC4, but not PC1 which has the doc I want to attach. I have tried using the direct mail address, and using thunderbird or outlook. It doesn't matter, PC1 will not show up.
When I go into File explore on PC2, I can see PC1 and open any file that I want from PC1. I only cannot find PC1 when trying to attach a file from PC2.
Help me please.

To address the issue you are facing with attaching files from PC1 to emails on PC2 but not being able to find PC1 while attaching the files, you can troubleshoot this by following these steps: 1. Ensure Network Discovery is On: - On PC1 and PC2, ensure that network discovery and sharing features are turned on. This allows the computers to be visible to each other on the network. - Go to Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Change advanced sharing settings. Ensure that network discovery and file and printer sharing are enabled. 2. Check Workgroup Configuration: - Make sure that both PCs are on the same workgroup. Go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced system settings -> Computer Name tab. Ensure that the...

Go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced system settings -> Computer Name tab. Ensure that the workgroup name is the same on both PCs. 3. Network Sharing Permissions: - Check the sharing permissions on the folders you are trying to access. Right-click on the folder -> Properties -> Sharing tab -> Advanced Sharing. Make sure that both PCs have read/write permissions on the shared folders. 4. Firewall and Antivirus Settings: - Temporarily disable the firewall and antivirus software on both PCs to see if they are blocking the network visibility. - If disabling the firewall helps, modify the firewall settings to allow file sharing over the network. 5. Directly Enter the Path in Email Client: - If PC1 is not showing up while attaching files, you can try directly entering the path to the file by typing the network path in the attachment dialog box. Use the format \\PC1\SharedFolder\File. 6. Use IP Address Instead of PC Name: - Instead of using the PC name, you can try entering the IP Address of PC1 directly in the email client's attachment dialog box. By following these steps and ensuring that both PCs are properly configured for sharing, network discovery is enabled, and there are no issues with the firewall or antivirus software blocking network traffic, you should be able to successfully attach files from PC1 to emails on PC2.
