Ok, could someone PLEASE help me coz i'm going nuts here.
I cannot install the drivers for my monitor with windows 7. I don't get it. I mean with windows xp you just go to the advanced settings of the display and you can change the driver of the monitor. Windows 7 doesn't let me! The boxes to change those settings are always greyed out!

My graphics card (ATI Radeon 9500) is recognized but apparently doesn't function properly, there are no drivers for 7 and windows vista and xp drivers neither work properly. Could this be the reason why i can't change the monitor driver?

Xp was so much simpler...

It sounds like you're facing compatibility issues with your monitor drivers on Windows 7, especially concerning the ATI Radeon 9500 graphics card. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem: 1. Compatibility Mode: You can try installing the Windows XP or Vista drivers in compatibility mode. Here's how to do it: - Right-click on the driver setup file and select "Properties." - Go to the "Compatibility" tab. - Check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for," and select the desired Windows version (e.g., Windows XP or Vista). - Apply the changes and try running the driver installation again. 2. Update Graphics Card Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers for...

Update Graphics Card Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your ATI Radeon 9500 graphics card. Although there might not be specific Windows 7 drivers, newer drivers might offer better compatibility. 3. Manufacturer's Website: Visit the AMD website (AMD acquired ATI) to see if there are any updated drivers that might work with Windows 7. 4. Manually Installing Drivers: If the installation wizard doesn't work, you can try manually installing the drivers: - Open Device Manager by pressing Windows key + X and selecting "Device Manager." - Locate your graphics card under "Display adapters." - Right-click on the graphics card and select "Update Driver Software." - Choose "Browse my computer for driver software" and navigate to the folder where the downloaded drivers are located. 5. Driver Signature Enforcement: Windows 7 has driver signature enforcement. You might need to disable it to install unsigned drivers. Here's how: - Restart your computer and press F8 before Windows starts loading. - Select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" from the boot options. 6. Check Monitor Compatibility: Ensure that your monitor is compatible with Windows 7 and that the drivers you are trying to install are designed for your monitor model. Remember, while Windows XP might have been simpler, newer operating systems often provide enhanced security, stability, and performance. If you're still having trouble after trying these steps, feel free to provide more details so we can assist you further!
