The product key is not bit specific. You can install either bit version and then active with the key. You must however use the same Windows edition. A Windows 7 Professional product key will not activate a Windows 7 Home Premium install.I have a win 7 32 bit pc screwing up and i don't have a installation disk. only the product code. can i use a 64 bit win 7 disk and use the 32 bit product code?
Judging by the thread title you are using Home Premium disk and product key. If so you will be fine installing Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and then activating with the Home Premium product key.
