Windows 7 Intermittent BSOD: Special Pool Detected Memory Corruption Troubleshooting Assistance Needed

Hi All,

I am experiencing intermittent BSOD, the lastest of which is lists SPECIAL_POOL_DETECTED_MEMORY_CORRUPTION as the error.

MInidump attached, please take a look and let me know what you find.

your bios needs updating:
BiosVersion = V1.6
BiosReleaseDate = 01/21/2009
There has been at least 10 updates released some including updates for memory modules (please double check I have the correct motherboard:

Please update your network driver (you can also grab your Hi Def sound drivers from here too):

If after updating the above your still getting bsod's please download and run memtest86 to check for memory errors.:

Thanks for the analysis, I will do this and post back the results here.

Also, I have never flashed BIOS before, is that pretty easy?

If you got to the motherboards web page I'm almost sure they'll have a guide and/or software to help you.

In fact it does say to use the little flash utility included in the download:

Users who download BIOS from here (not using Live Update) should use the flash utility included in the downloaded compressed file when doing the BIOS update. To avoid BIOS update failure, please do not use older versions of the update utility or utilities not provided by MSI.

Sorry for taking sooo long to get back and update.

I was able to update the BIOS and everything seemed to work fine for a while. Eventually my ram started to die so I have built a new rig.

Thanks for all of your help in debugging and suggest the fixes for the issues I was having.
