I'm using Vonage Companion and I have a Skype phone plugged into a USB port. For some reason when WIN 7 goes to sleep it drops the drivers for the phone. So I unplug it and plug it back into the USB port and it would work fine. Later I found out I could go to the control panel. Click on Hardware & Sound, then click on Devices and Printers, right mouse click on my device and click troubleshoot and it would reset the phone to a working state.

I talked to Vonage and they have made no changes on their software to accomodate WIN 7. I thought WIN 7 would run all software that XP ran. So as far as I know when WIN7 goes to sleep, I have to reset my phone either through software or unplug it and plug it back in to the USB port. I hope this is a temporary problem.

Now if someone wanted to make it really slick they would enable the keypad on the skype phone.

Solution
It seems like you're facing issues with your Skype phone drivers getting dropped when Windows 7 goes to sleep. It's a common problem with certain devices not waking up correctly after sleep mode. Here are a few suggestions to potentially address this issue: 1. Power Management Settings: Adjust the Power Management settings for the USB port that the phone is connected to. This can prevent Windows from selectively powering down the USB ports during sleep mode. 2. USB Selective Suspend Setting: Disable the USB Selective Suspend feature in Windows. This feature can cause USB devices to disconnect when the system enters sleep mode. 3. Update Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your Skype phone. Sometimes...
It seems like you're facing issues with your Skype phone drivers getting dropped when Windows 7 goes to sleep. It's a common problem with certain devices not waking up correctly after sleep mode. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause compatibility issues. 4. Device Troubleshooting: As you mentioned, using the troubleshoot option in the Control Panel can help reset the device to a working state. This can be a quick way to resolve the issue without physically unplugging and re-plugging the device. Regarding enabling the keypad on the Skype phone, this might require additional software or drivers specific to that functionality. You can check with the manufacturer of the phone or look for third-party software solutions that could enable this feature. While Windows 7 is quite versatile, some newer hardware may not be fully supported due to compatibility or driver issues. If the problem persists, you might need to consider workarounds or updates to address the sleep mode issue. If you need further assistance or clarifications on any of these steps, feel free to ask!
