I was wondering is anyone knows of a generic eSCL / AirScan scanner driver for Driverless scanning on Windows. It seems other platforms now embrace this protocol but Windows again gets left a decade behind.

Solution
Currently, Windows does not natively support the eSCL (eScanner) protocol for driverless scanning like some other operating systems. However, there are third-party applications and tools that may help bridge this gap by enabling driverless scanning on Windows. Here are some potential solutions to explore: 1. Third-Party Applications: Look for third-party scanning applications that provide support for the eSCL protocol. These applications may offer features to help you scan documents without needing specific hardware drivers. 2. Scanner Manufacturer Software: Check if your scanner manufacturer provides any scanning software that supports driverless scanning. Sometimes, scanner manufacturers offer their own applications that can enable scanning functionality without additional drivers. 3. Virtual Machines: Consider setting up a virtual machine with a supported operating system that includes built-in support for eSCL scanning. You can then pass through the scanner to the virtual machine for driverless scanning capabilities. 4. Compatibility Layer: Investigate whether compatibility layers like WINE or CrossOver can provide the necessary environment to run scanning software that supports eSCL scanning on Windows. 5. Community Forums: Explore forums or communities dedicated to scanning or Windows software development. Other users may have found workarounds or solutions to enable driverless scanning on Windows. By exploring these options or seeking guidance from scanner manufacturers, software developers, or the broader technical community, you may find ways to enable eSCL or driverless scanning on your Windows system.
