I have windows explorer pinned to my task bar. Within WE I have several folders pinned to it. I am noticing that the server drives do not remained pinned as I have defined them. For example, I have one drive mapped to L: which is pinned. However, if I navigate to a sub-folder withing L: the pinned folder changes. I don't think this is expected behavior.

Solution
It seems that you are experiencing unexpected behavior with Windows Explorer and pinned folders on your taskbar. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Check Taskbar Settings:

  1. Unpin and Repin: Try unpinning the folder from the taskbar and then pin it again to see if it resolves the issue.
  2. Taskbar Settings: Right-click on the taskbar, go to "Toolbars," and make sure that "Address" and "Links" are unchecked.

    Explore Folder Options:

  3. Navigation Pane: Check if the Navigation Pane in Windows Explorer is showing all drives correctly.
  4. Folder Options: Navigate to "Folder Options" from the Control Panel and check settings related to navigation and pinned...

  6. Recent Items: Remove any recent items that are affecting the pinned folder behavior.

    Reset Explorer Settings:

  7. Reset Windows Explorer: You can reset Windows Explorer settings to default by using the Command Prompt with administrative privileges.
    Code:
    bash taskkill /f /im explorer.exe start explorer.exe

    Additional Considerations:

    • Permissions: Ensure that you have the appropriate permissions to access the folders and drives.
    • Update Windows: Check for Windows updates to ensure that your system is running the latest version.
    • Third-Party Tools: If you have any third-party tools that might be interfering with Explorer behavior, try disabling them temporarily.
If the issue persists, providing more details or screenshots of the behavior can help in further diagnosing the problem. Let me know if you need more assistance!
