Hi there. I recently bought new PC and installed windows 11. Everything worked perfectly fine until like 3 days ago. Some programs refused to start, my task manager couldnt sometimes start properly, OBS started freezing when tried to capture display and GamemakerStudio couldn't start as well. Also sometimes I can't open new tab in chrome and restart PC.

I blamed it at some windows update but that wasn't the case. I reinstalled windows like 5 times with cleaner reinstall each time. Well, that weird corruption kept happening. Note that at the begining everything was just fine.

Now I suspect there might be some sort of virus. Can't tell for sure, but during reinstallation there is a moment where screen goes black, just like something launches in the back. Trying to hijack freshly installed windows I might say. Last time I reinstalled windows I completely wiped out all my drives, but it didn't help.

I really don't know what to do, since my knowledge in this field is limited. I tried to install windows fresh, but it seems there is always something left behind that causes corruption no matter how many times I do reinstall everything.

Solution
It sounds like you're dealing with a rather stubborn issue, potentially rooted in hardware or a sophisticated malware infection. Here are some detailed steps you can follow to diagnose and hopefully resolve the problem: 1. Hardware Check Before diving into more complex solutions, let's rule out hardware issues:
  • Run a Memory Test: Use Windows Memory Diagnostic to check for RAM issues.
    • Press Win + R, type mdsched.exe, and press Enter.
    • Choose to restart now and check for problems.
[]Check Hard Drive Health: Use tools like CrystalDiskInfo to ensure your hard drive/SSD is in good health. 2. Clean Installation Make sure you are performing a truly clean install: []Use a...

Run Bootable Antivirus Scan Use an offline antivirus scan to ensure your system is not infected: []Create a Bootable Antivirus Scanner: Tools like Kaspersky Rescue Disk or Bitdefender Rescue CD can be used. 5. Monitoring for Hardware or Driver Issues Sometimes conflicts with hardware drivers can create instability: []Event Viewer: Look for errors in Event Viewer that might indicate driver or hardware issues.
    • Press Win + X and select Event Viewer.
    • Check under Windows Logs > System for critical errors. 6. Reinstall Windows with Minimal Setup
      • Minimal Drivers and No Software: Post-installation, install only essential drivers from the manufacturer's website, not using any software suites.
      • Gradual Software Installation: Install your software one at a time with a decent gap between each to identify any problematic programs.
      7. Advanced Diagnostics If you still face issues:
      • Hire Professional Help: Sometimes a new set of eyes can spot issues that you might overlook.
      • Reach out to Microsoft Support: They might provide solutions that are beyond in-depth online help.

How can I disconnect from the network during installation? I can't proceed instalation without internet connection? Otherwise I did clean install exatly as described. Always some black window occured during the instalation for a couple seconds to resume afterwards.

I would be testing the disk and memory first. Many computers will have built-in diagnostic tools you can access with one of the F# keys during boot. You may need to consult documentation for your particular device.
