I upgraded from VISTA Biz 64bit to Win7 Prof 64bit. As instructed, I uninstalled iTunes before the upgrade and reinstalled it afterwards. Since then iTunes insists on running in XP SP3 compatibility mode. In the program properties the compatibility checkbox is off, but the XP SP3 is visible and grayed out. Every time I start iTunes, it informs me that: "iTunes.exe has been set to run in compatibility mode for an older version of windows......". It does work though. I did try all kind of things, including mannually installing iTunes 64bit (which still installs in Program Files (x86), although the dynamic libraries are in the 64 bit directory.

Hello an welcome to the windows7forums,.

Most all of us agree that an upgrade is not the route to take. It leaves useless files on your system and can cause conflicts. as you are now experiencing.

Save all you Documents, Pictures, contacts, videos, music, etc to a flash drive,

Be aware, you will need to re-install your 3rd party applications.
