I have a customer who's numlock is beeping, only the numlock, not caps lock or scroll lock. The customer has bitlocker and entering the bitlocker code works fine with the number pad, but then once in Windows, the number pad will no longer work as it should. They are using an HP Folio 9470m laptop with a docking station. I have tried replacing the dock and keyboard, plugging the keyboard into the dock and into the laptop itself, and checked all of the possibilities of the Ease of Access center. So far nothing has worked. Please help if you can, would be much appreciated.

Solution
It seems like the issue is specific to the Num Lock key on the keyboard. This can sometimes indicate a hardware or driver-related problem. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the Num Lock issue: 1. Check Num Lock in BIOS: - Restart the laptop and enter the BIOS setup (usually by pressing F2 or Del during startup). - Look for any Num Lock settings in the BIOS and ensure it's set correctly. 2. Reinstall Keyboard Drivers: - Uninstall the keyboard driver in Device Manager. - Restart the laptop and let Windows reinstall the keyboard driver automatically. 3. Windows Update: - Make sure Windows is up to date with the latest updates, including keyboard and system drivers. 4. Boot in...

Boot in Safe Mode: - Boot into Safe Mode and check if the Num Lock key functions correctly in Safe Mode. If it does, a third-party software or driver might be causing the issue. 5. System File Check: - Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run the command: sfc /scannow. - This will help check for and repair any corrupted system files. 6. Hardware Test: - Run system diagnostics to check for any hardware issues beyond the keyboard and docking station. If none of these steps resolve the issue, there could be an underlying software configuration issue or possibly an intermittent hardware problem. It might be best to consult HP support or a specialist to diagnose the problem further. Let me know if you need more detailed instructions on any of these steps or if you need further assistance!
