Could you please fill in your computer specs in the UserCP link at the top left hand side of the page.

Then click Edit Your Details.

This freeware program will give you all the information you will need:

SIV (System Information Viewer) 4.03

This will give us better trouble shooting help

Right-click om the taskbar, choose properties and select Always Combine, Hide labels.

Hi

I have updated my profile with the PC details as requested.
the settings are set to Always Combine, Hide labels.

Any Idea?

I prefer to wait before trying drews solutions

Choose Never Combine

Also you may have to reboot your PC before the changes take effect.

Has it worked previously OK?

Do you recall installing any neww software or making any other major changed to your system.

If it just began, you could try a restore point.

It's a new pc and I just began installing progs on it.
other new win 7 things work well on it ex. aero peek, snap ...
