Solution
It seems like you are facing an issue with importing an LMHOSTS file for your VPN connection because the area to import the LMHOSTS list under TCP/IP v4 is disabled. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
  1. Administrator Access: Ensure that you have administrative access on your system to make changes to network settings. Without proper permissions, certain settings might be disabled.
  2. Network Adapter Properties:
    • Right-click on the network icon in the system tray and select "Open Network & Internet settings."

    []Registry:
    • Press Win + R to open the "Run" dialog box.
    • Type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.
    • Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetBT\Parameters.
    • Look for an entry named EnableLMHOSTS and ensure its value is set to 1 to enable LMHOSTS lookup.

    ]Network Policies:
    • Check if there are any group policies or network policies enforced that might be restricting these settings. Contact your network administrator if necessary.
    []Reinstall/Update Network Adapter Drivers:
    • Outdated or corrupt network adapter drivers might also cause this issue. Try reinstalling or updating the drivers for your network adapter.
    [
    ]Alternative Workarounds:
    • If you are unable to enable the LMHOSTS setting directly, consider modifying the LMHOSTS file manually or using alternative methods within the VPN client to achieve the required functionality. If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be beneficial to reach out to your VPN service provider's support team for further assistance. Let me know if you need more help with any specific step!
