I purchased a remote control from Adesso just yesterday. The model name is ARC-1100 if you'd like to Google it. I connected it and everything seemed to be fine. I was able to use it to navigate Media Center as intended. However I went through the Setup TV Signal options and everything was fine (I even saw video on the manual setup page) up until I got to the IR receiver part. Media Center stated that it could not find the IR receiver even though my IR was connected to the computer. I Goggled it but couldn't find anything. There is no driver for the IR so there's no way for it to have a driver problem. I looked up reviews and there was not one bad review for the remote. Can anyone help me? I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and the latest version of Media Center and I'm trying to connect it to a DirecTV HD set top box model H24. Thanks.

Solution
It seems like you are facing an issue with the IR receiver compatibility when setting up your Adesso ARC-1100 remote control with Windows Media Center on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit to control a DirecTV HD set-top box. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve this issue: 1. Check Connections: - Ensure that the IR receiver is properly connected to your computer. Try unplugging and re-plugging the IR receiver to see if that resolves the issue. 2. IR Receiver Positioning: - The IR receiver should have a line of sight to the remote control. Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the signal. 3. Windows Media Center Settings: - Open Windows Media Center and navigate to the Setup TV Signal option...

Check the settings related to IR receiver detection and configuration. 4. Update Drivers: - Even if you mentioned there is no specific driver for the IR receiver, check for any generic drivers that Windows might use for IR receivers. Sometimes updating USB drivers can help with device recognition. 5. Compatibility: - Confirm that the Adesso ARC-1100 remote control is fully compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and DirecTV HD set-top boxes. You may want to check for any specific compatibility requirements. 6. Testing with Different Software: - If possible, try testing the remote control with other software or applications to see if the issue is specific to Windows Media Center. 7. Alternative Solutions: - Consider using third-party software that can assist in configuring the remote control with your media center setup. If you continue to experience issues, you may want to reach out to Adesso customer support for further assistance. They might have additional troubleshooting steps or insights specific to their products. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any other questions!
