I have just purchased a Toshiba A505 Laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 w/ 4GB Ram. The issue is that Media Player starts up on Boot up. I have researched several blogs and/or forums and have attempted several fixes to no avail. I have checked the msconfig start and media player is not listed. I have been told to run several malware and spyware programs and nothing has been found. Any help on this frustrating problem would be greatly appreciated.

    ]Scheduled Tasks:
    • Check if there is a scheduled task triggering Windows Media Player to start at boot.
    • Open Task Scheduler (Win + R, type "taskschd.msc," and hit Enter) to review the tasks.
    []Third-Party Software:
    • Sometimes third-party software can cause programs to start at boot. Check if there's any software installed that could be initiating Windows Media Player.
    [
    ]Clean Boot:
    • Perform a clean boot to diagnose if any third-party services or startup items are causing the issue.
    • Instructions to perform a clean boot in Windows can be found on Microsoft's website.
    []System File Checker (SFC) Scan:
    • Run an SFC scan to check for and repair any corrupted system files that might be causing the issue.
    [
    ]Further Investigation:
    • If none of the above steps work, consider using more advanced tools like Autoruns for Windows to thoroughly inspect all startup components.

      Additional Suggestions:

      • Ensure your Windows OS and all software are up to date.
      • Consider creating a new user account and check if the issue persists there.
