Clean install yesterday of Home Premium 64 bit upgrade. Dual Booting with XP Pro. Never had Vista.
None of the automatic power save features seem ti be working in Windows 7.
In XP Pro I have the monitor turning off after 10 minutes - works fine.
In 7, nothing - monitor never turns off, computer never goes to sleep.
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P MB, 4GB RAM, Intel Q9550 @3.4 GHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650, Dell 2005 FPW LCD monitor.
Device manager looks fine, no exclamation points.
It seems there is no driver for my actual monitor model so it is using "Generic PnP Monitor".
I tried different settings in Power Options and nothing works.
Have tried full shutdown including turning off the power supply - same.
If I manually select Sleep from the start menu, the computer sleeps fine.
Does anyone have any ideas?
