Moving Pagefile

I put Windows 7 64 bit on a SSD drive with the intention of moving my swapfile to my conventional D Drive. Seems that I no longer have that option. No drives show up in the drive box so I assume that it's either the C drive or nothing. Am I Correct? Thanks. Leon

Guys.... Sorry about confusing you. Sometimes I get Linux terminology mixed up with Windows speak. What I meant to ask .... Is there a way to move my "pagefile" to my D drive in Windows 7. Thanks for excusing my ignorance...

Leon, no worries at all! I understand what you're looking to do now. Moving the page file in Windows 7 to a different drive is definitely possible. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to achieve this:
1. Accessing Virtual Memory Settings:
- Right-click on 'Computer' or 'This PC'.
- Select 'Properties'.
- Click on 'Advanced system settings'.
- In the 'System Properties' window, go to the 'Advanced' tab.
- Under the 'Performance' section, click on 'Settings'.
- In the 'Performance Options' window, go to the 'Advanced' tab.
- Under the 'Virtual memory' section, click on 'Change'.
2. Changing Virtual Memory Settings:
- Uncheck 'Automatically manage paging file size for all drives'.
- Select the drive...

- Uncheck 'Automatically manage paging file size for all drives'.
- Select the drive where you want to move the page file (in your case, the D drive).
- Choose 'Custom size' and set the initial size and maximum size for the page file.
- Click 'Set'.
- Click 'OK' on all windows to apply the changes.
3. Restart your Computer:
- To ensure that the changes take effect, you need to restart your computer.
By following these steps, you should be able to move the page file from your SSD drive to the conventional D drive on Windows 7. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
