My History
Pre Yesterday many BSOD could not narrow it down. PC guy told me it was my web cam they up dated my drivers. No Luck.. BSOD Was trying to convert DVD files using DVDfab to a format for an Android Tablet BSOD BSOD BSOD. Ok Update all drivers...
Ran program called DriverUpDate found 9 drivers out of date. Updated all these ie. Video Card, Audio Card, Mouse, AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller, Both Wire and wireless Network, Hauppauge HVR-2250 TV Tuner, ?? ,?? and ?? .
Today Doing some work on Eclipce (Android program Developing) BSOD But this time I seen hcw89.sys. Linked to the Hauppauge card. Ok I found you here. Removed Card. All well so far. I turned of auto restart for next time. and will run the memory test with out the Tuner installed. Ran Program called BlueScreenView Seen Pre today ntoskrnl.exe is at fault now its that hcw89.sys. and I have had more than 5 BSOD but that is all that is listed.
One Problem I am having now is boot up. its not unless I hold Esc at the start and select the boot device. Did I mess up some how that file that tell the system what to boot with. What is that called? Getting Late Going to sleep. I'm sure it will not fix itself over night.
