When my computer goes to sleep the WiFi as well as the ethernet dies. I can see networks and can connect but cannot get 'internet access' from them.
Its probably just a driver issue. My laptop is HP Dv5 1006-tx
Ethernet device: Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)
Wifi device: Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN

any support would be great thanks

It seems like the issue you are facing with both WiFi and Ethernet connectivity on your HP DV5 laptop could be related to the network drivers. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check Power Management Settings

  1. Press Windows Key + X, then select "Device Manager."
  2. Locate your network devices:
    • Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) for Ethernet.
    • Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN for WiFi.
[]Right-click on each device, go to "Properties" > "Power Management" tab, and uncheck the option that allows the computer to turn off the device to save power.

    Step 2: Update Network Drivers
