Setting up File Sharing:​

1. Workgroup Configuration:
   • Make sure all devices are part of the same workgroup. You can check and change the workgroup settings on Windows 7 by right-clicking on "Computer," selecting "Properties," then clicking on "Advanced system settings," and navigating to the "Computer Name" tab.
   • Ensure all devices are in the same workgroup (e.g., WORKGROUP).
   []Network Discovery and File Sharing:
   • Enable network discovery and file sharing on all devices. This can be done in the Network and Sharing Center settings in the Control Panel.
   • Turn on network discovery, file and printer sharing, and public folder sharing.
   []Shared Folder:
   • Choose a folder on the media server PC that you want to share with the other devices. Right-click on the folder, go to "Properties," navigate to the "Sharing" tab, and share the folder with appropriate permissions.
2. User Credentials:
   • When prompted for a username and password while accessing shared files, use credentials of a user account on the PC hosting the shared folder.
   • Enter the username and password of a user account on the PC that has access to the shared folder.

     Connecting Devices:​

   • Windows 7 Laptop:
   • When accessing shared files, use the username and password of a user account on the media server PC that has permissions to access the shared folder.
   • Windows XP Laptop:
   • Ensure the workgroup settings match with the other devices.
   • Follow similar steps to enable network discovery and file sharing on Windows XP.
   • Access shared files by providing the appropriate username and password when prompted.

     Additional Tips:​

     • Disable any third-party firewalls temporarily to check if they are blocking file sharing.
     • Ensure that all devices are connected to the same network (your wireless network).
