i recently bought a new hard drive with windows 7 home premium 32 bit installed. when i tried to install it in my pc it would not boot up, im assuming its because everything is new to it. i bought a windows 7 recovery disc but it has not helped. i did not get an install disc with the new hard drive. is there any hope for my problem? thanks, chris

It's probably missing the Master Boot Record (MBR). A Google search shows many sites to help with this.

To get an installation disk you might Link Removed. This iso file can be burned to a DVD and used along with your key for installation purposes.

It sounds to me like you got scammed. I never heard of buying a HD with the OS already installed on it. How would it know what other hardware your system has installed?

If it were me I would do everything possible to return the drive and get my money back.
If you can't do that chalk it up to experince and buy a OEM version on WIN7 and install on your new hard drive.

Good luck

If you never got a key, you got taken. You can attempt to get your money back. Good luck with that. Win 7 ALWAYS comes with a valid key to activate it.
