sometimes, and I don't know what causes it, but I don't have the blue ribbon accros the top. I can get the back arrow and :X" by bumping the curser off the top of the screen , but that is a pain, can I fix that permanently?

Hey Jack. I think I have finally clicked!!!!!!!
First get Google as yr home page ( you say you can do that now)
Click Tools - Inetrnet options.
Click "Use current".

We all remember what it was like to be new at computers. They almost drove me nuts. But if you need a break go ahead. We'll be here when you come back.

hey Saltgrass,
am not giving up, but have found that I can, in the top left hand side of the screen,
(the address bar?) and type in Google I can restore Google as my
home page, and get away from "inbox" so that is what I did and it seems to work, Thanks

As far as ya'll being old farts, I remember when dirt was brand new. My children
are convinced that I unloaded the first load of dirt that started America!
