Since loading 8 I consistently get a non-responding on Word applications and when opening browser pages and email. Any answers or suggestions on what maybe causing this? I thought it might be memory but memory tests indicate I am fine.

Experiencing non-responsive behavior in Word applications, browser pages, and emails can be quite frustrating. There are several factors that could contribute to this issue, aside from memory problems. Here are some suggestions and potential causes to consider:

1. Resource Usage: Check the resource usage of your system while running these applications. High CPU or disk usage can lead to non-responsive behavior.

2. Background Processes: Make sure there are no unnecessary background processes consuming system resources. You can use Task Manager to monitor and close unnecessary processes.

3. Software Updates: Ensure that your Windows, Microsoft Office, browser, and email client are up-to-date. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues leading to non-responsive behavior.

4. Add-ins or Extensions: Disable any unnecessary add-ins or extensions in Word, the browser, or your email client. Sometimes, third-party add-ins can cause conflicts and slow down the applications.

5. Antivirus Software: Your antivirus software might be scanning files in the background, causing delays. Try temporarily disabling the real-time scanning feature to see if it makes a difference.

6. Disk Fragmentation: Over time, your hard drive might get fragmented, which can slow down file access. You can run a disk defragmentation tool to improve performance.

7. Check for Malware: Run a full system scan with your antivirus software to ensure that your system is not infected with malware.

8. Hardware Issues: While memory tests indicate that your RAM is fine, other hardware components like the hard drive or CPU could be causing the bottleneck. Checking the health of these components might be a good idea.

9. Update Drivers: Ensure that all your device drivers are up-to-date. Outdated drivers can cause instability in the system.

10. User Profile Corruption: In rare cases, user profile corruption can lead to non-responsive behavior. Creating a new user profile and testing the applications there can help identify if this is the issue.

If none of these suggestions help alleviate the problem, it might be beneficial to seek further assistance from a professional or consider reinstalling the affected applications or performing a system refresh. It's also a good idea to regularly back up important data to prevent data loss in case of any system issues.
