It seems like you're encountering an issue accessing a Novell 6.5 OES CIFS share after upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate. To troubleshoot this problem, here are some steps you can take: 1. Check Network Connectivity: - Ensure that your network connection is stable and working properly. You should be able to ping the Novell server to confirm connectivity. 2. Verify UNC Path: - Double-check the UNC path you are using to access the share. It should follow the format: \\ServerName\ShareName. Make sure there are no typographical errors in the path. 3. Credentials and Permissions: - Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to access the Novell share. Try accessing the share with different credentials to see if it resolves the issue. 4. Firewall Settings: - Check your Windows Firewall settings to ensure that they are not blocking access to the Novell server. You may need to create exceptions or allow the necessary ports for CIFS/SMB communication. 5. Novell Client Configuration: - Check the configuration of the Novell Client on your Windows 7 system. Ensure that it is properly installed and configured to access Novell services. 6. Network Discovery: - Make sure that network discovery is enabled on your Windows 7 system. This can be done in the Network and Sharing Center settings. 7. Compatibility Mode: - Try running the UNC path access in compatibility mode for Windows Vista. Right-click the application, go to Properties, and under the Compatibility tab, select Windows Vista. 8. Update Drivers and Software: - Ensure that your network adapter drivers are up to date. Also, check for any updates or patches related to Windows 7 compatibility with Novell services. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue with accessing the Novell 6.5 OES CIFS share from your Windows 7 Ultimate system. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you encounter any specific error messages during this process.
