I just updated the driver for my NVIDIA 9800 GT 1 G to latest driver. I went into safe mode and used driver sweeper. I adjust color settings and save but on reboot it either doesn't load or loads and return to default. Seems to be a common long standing problem with no answer. It used to be an occasional problem before updating that occurred after other software updates. Then I simply went to load profile and saved again. NVIDIA nicely deleted that feature in this new update. Nothing shows in event log.

I gave up and went back one revision and it works fine now.

It sounds like you experienced some issues with the latest NVIDIA driver update for your 9800 GT 1 GB graphics card. Adjusting color settings and saving them, only to find that they either don't load correctly upon reboot or revert to default settings, can be frustrating. Here are some troubleshooting steps you might consider if you encounter similar issues in the future: 1. Clean Installation of Drivers: - Perform a clean installation of the NVIDIA drivers. This process involves uninstalling the current drivers completely before installing the new ones. NVIDIA provides an option for a clean installation during the driver installation process. 2. Use NVIDIA Control Panel: - Instead of adjusting color settings through the...

2. Use NVIDIA Control Panel: - Instead of adjusting color settings through the Windows settings, use the NVIDIA Control Panel provided by the driver. This can sometimes be more effective in persisting the settings. 3. Create a Custom Color Profile: - Instead of changing the color settings directly, consider creating a custom color profile in the NVIDIA Control Panel. This might help retain your settings after reboots. 4. Rollback to a Stable Version: - If you encounter persistent issues with the latest driver, as you did by reverting to the previous version, sticking with a stable driver version that works well for your system is a valid solution. 5. Check for Driver Updates Regularly: - Keep an eye out for new driver updates from NVIDIA. They may release fixes for issues like the one you experienced in future updates. If you are satisfied with the performance of the older driver version that you reverted to, it's perfectly fine to stick with it until a more stable update is available. It's unfortunate that the newer driver version caused these issues, but sometimes compatibility problems can arise. If you have any further questions or encounter similar issues in the future, feel free to ask for assistance.
