I just built my new computer today and put on my old PATA hard drive. Win7 kind of worked on the old system but with all of the crashes I assumed the old Athelon2200+ w/2gig was not up to snuff.

When I popped the old HD in, Win7 (32bit) coughed up a kidney and wouldn't start. Of course the repair was worthless. I tried once to boot from the dvd but it got to the starting windows and hung before it got into the install option

Biostar G41-M7 mobo (BIOS not updated yet)
Pentium-Dual 6500
4GB Ram
using onboard vga for now

I could only try once before coming to work and I'll be going home soon to work on it. If it doesn't work, I'll start seeing if it's the memory. Other than that, any idea of whats going on and how to get Win to work (either with or without a custom install).
