OnePlus has confirmed it will stop launching new products in North America and Europe, ending more than a decade of official sales in markets that helped establish the brand’s “flagship killer” reputation. The company’s notice describes the move as a global strategy adjustment rather than an immediate end to support for phones already in customers’ hands.
Per OnePlus’ official business-adjustment notice, existing devices will continue to receive scheduled software updates, security patches, warranty service, repairs and after-sales support according to the commitments made for each model. Consumer-protection rights remain in force. Ars Technica reports that the OnePlus 15 is expected to be the last model released in the affected regions.

The practical change is straightforward: once remaining retail stock is gone, buyers in the US, Canada and Europe should not expect new OnePlus phones, tablets, watches or other products through normal regional channels.
That does not mean an immediate software cutoff. OnePlus says current owners retain access to its support channels, and eligible devices can still be repaired under the applicable warranty terms. Admins and enthusiasts using OnePlus handsets as work or test devices should nevertheless treat the announcement as a reason to document each model’s remaining update window rather than assume support will continue indefinitely.
The company has not published a blanket end-of-life schedule for all regional models in its announcement. Support remains tied to the update period originally promised for a given device.

OxygenOS is being folded into ColorOS​

OnePlus also confirmed a more consequential software shift. After the official release of ColorOS 17, users of eligible existing devices will be offered a voluntary upgrade from OxygenOS to Oppo’s ColorOS platform. Models outside that upgrade scope are meant to receive version-maintenance support instead.
OnePlus says users may decline the ColorOS move, and that a rollback to OxygenOS will be available after upgrading, although it has not yet specified which rollback builds or devices will be supported. That caveat matters for users who rely on OxygenOS-specific behavior, enterprise mobile-management testing, bootloader workflows, or established device images.
The decision formalizes a convergence that had been visible for years as OnePlus and parent brand Oppo increasingly shared hardware development and Android foundations. It also removes one of the few remaining Android brands that had maintained a distinct enthusiast identity in the North American market.

Community archive deadline​

US community members should save anything they want to keep. OnePlus says its North American community website will close at 11:59 p.m. ET on August 16, 2026, after which posts, comments, photos and guides will no longer be publicly accessible.
OnePlus will continue operating in India, while Oppo has said it will expand its European presence, but Oppo does not officially sell phones in North America. For existing US and European owners, the immediate task is simply to retain support records and any community material before the regional services disappear.
