Windows 8 Out of the Blue

Out of the blue, something just occurred to me... I remember a while back there was a lot being said about a loss of AeroGlass.

Well, fair enough, windows won't 'float' on the screen & whirl around like a rolodex BUT,
You can, still, do Alt+Tab
And both the Charms Bar and the Taskbar are transparent.
I'm not seeing any catastrophic loss of anything.

Oh, out of the blue was no pun intended.

Cheers,
Drew

PS: I didn't know where to put this; somebody wants to relocate it, feel free.

I believe that is Windows 8?

In windows 8.1, the taskbar transparent by default, but the charms bar is affected.

IF you just pop the Charm Bar icons out, will be transparent & @ this point the time & date (Lower-Left) are not yet showing.... as soon as you move to actually do anything on the Charms Bar it will fill. I should have qualified.

Cheers,
Drew

I don't have Windows 8 to hand at the moment. As I said, 8.1 appears to be different.
This is my full legacy desktop screen. As you can see, the clock is there and the taskbar is transparent
