Solution
It seems like you encountered an issue after extending the HDD where your system is stuck in a reboot loop with the error message "autochk program not found - skipping AUTOCHECK." This issue commonly occurs when the boot configuration data is corrupted or if there was a problem during the disk extension process. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve this issue:

Step 1: Boot into Safe Mode

  1. Restart your Computer: Press the power button to turn on the computer.
  2. Repeatedly Tap F8: Start tapping the F8 key immediately after the computer powers on.
  3. Select Safe Mode: Choose the "Safe Mode" option from the Advanced Boot Options menu.

  4. Access System Restore: In Safe Mode, go to the Start menu and type "system restore."
  5. Open System Restore: Select "System Restore" from the search results.
  6. Choose a Restore Point: Select a restore point before you extended the HDD and follow the instructions to restore your system.

Step 3: Fix Boot Configuration Data (BCD)

  7. Access Command Prompt: In Safe Mode, type "cmd" in the Start menu search and select "Run as administrator" to open Command Prompt.
  8. Run the Following Commands:
    Code:
    cmd chkdsk /f /r bootrec /rebuildbcd

Step 4: Use a Windows 7 Installation Disc

If you have a Windows 7 installation disc, you can try repairing the system using the following steps:
  9. Boot from the Disc: Insert the Windows 7 installation disc and boot from it.
  10. Repair Your Computer: When prompted, choose the "Repair your computer" option.
  11. Startup Repair: Select "Startup Repair" and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Step 5: Seek Professional Help

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it might be best to seek the help of a professional technician or a computer repair service. Make sure to back up any important data if possible before attempting these steps. If you don't have a Windows 7 installation disc, you may need to consider alternative recovery options or seek assistance from a professional. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any questions!
