Windows 7 please help, cannot get issue resolved, looked on so many sites

i have start up sounds, but wmp, youtube anything else will not play sound. please please please help, its beyond a joke now how long ive been searching for a resolve. ive deleted and reinstalled new drivers, try the run and working in the box work (sorry unsure of specific name but where the black box and old school typing comes up) nothing works!

hey samamtha,
I believe the black box you are referring to is command prompt.
if you have start up sound than it sounds as though you have the drivers you need for you sound card. you might run the Microsoft fixit tool and see if that makes any change. all updates are installed adobe flash player etc. hope this helps.

Two things ...
control panel > Programs and Features > Turn on/off Windows Features (upper left corner) > scroll down to Media Features and UNCHECK everything in that tab. Reboot, return to the same place and Check Media Features. Maybe need a 2nd reboot then try the wmp for sound.

2nd, did you "delete" or "uninstall" the sound drivers??
