Windows 7 Printing with Windows 7

I installed Windows 7 to replace Vista. I cannot print from any program. I get a message to go to printer services and click
to enable bidirectional printing, but canot find that option anywhere.

Some more information would be helpful version of windows 7? Home Premium, Pro, Ultimate, 32bit 64bit??
What is the printer's manufacturer, model and model number"
How is it connected, parallel port, usb port, wireless, network attached.
