Windows 7 Problem with windows 7 and youtube / gmail

I've got the final version of Windows 7 installed on my computer (professional edition) 64 bit. It was working perfectly fine up until I turned it on this morning. Now for whatever reason, gmail is loading in basic text form (and saying it had a problem loading gmail), and youtube videos do not load at all. I get the black screen but no video. I know gmail and youtube are working fine on my vista 64 bit machine. Any ideas (besides doing a rollback)?

Uninstall Video Drivers and reinstall from Manufacturer. Would be one thing to try

Clearing out all Temp Files and Cookies.

Is this only in IE? or Firefox also?

Sorry, I forgot to add that. It's on both IE and firefox.

A system restore did fix the problem, but I'm still wondering what went wrong in the first place. I uninstalled and re-installed flash player which had no effect in either browser.
