When I'm at school, we have to connect using a proxy (proxy.det.nsw.edu.au) with the port 8080.
Then, when we access the internet, it pops up asking us to enter our username and password.
So, I want to play League of Legends at school on my laptop, but I can't even open it because it says it cannot connect.
So I need a way to use this Proxy Authentication with programs (in this case LoL).

Thanks heaps :)

To configure a program like League of Legends to work with a proxy server that requires authentication, you typically need to set up the proxy settings within the program itself. However, not all programs support proxy servers that require authentication. Here's a general guide on how you can try to set up League of Legends to work with your school's proxy server:

Setting up Proxy with Authentication for League of Legends:

  1. League of Legends Settings:
    • Open the League of Legends client on your laptop.
    • Look for settings related to network configurations or proxy settings within the game client. League of Legends may or may not have specific settings for proxy configurations.

    []Windows Proxy Configuration:
    • If League of Legends doesn't have built-in proxy settings, you can configure the proxy at the system level on Windows.
    • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.
    • Enable the "Manual proxy setup" option.
    • Enter your school's proxy server address (proxy.det.nsw.edu.au) and the port (8080).
    • Ensure to tick the box that says "Use this proxy server for all protocols."

    ]Using Proxy Authentication Credentials:
    • Normally, Windows should prompt you to enter your proxy authentication details when you try to connect to the internet. Ensure you enter your school credentials when prompted.
  2. League of Legends Launch:
    • Try launching League of Legends again after configuring the proxy settings. If League of Legends supports the system proxy configurations, it should now work through the proxy server.

      Additional Considerations:

      • Network Restrictions: Keep in mind that some networks might have additional restrictions that could prevent certain applications, like online games, from working properly.
      • Administrative Restrictions: Some school networks may have strict policies that block certain types of traffic, including game servers. In this case, it might not be possible to play League of Legends while connected to the school network.
      • Proxy Authentication Apps: There are also third-party applications available that can help manage proxy settings and authentication for programs that do not support native proxy configurations. You can explore such tools if the above methods do not work.
Try these steps to see if you can get League of Legends to work with your school's proxy server. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
