Windows 7 Root element is missing error

I am getting this error when trying to connect internet and have no idea how to fix it. Please help me to solve this problem.

Pop up : Microsoft >NET Framework

You should check that you have .NET updated. Go to Windows Update, to look if it has something new to offer. It might be wise to uninstall present .NET, so as to start from fresh.

.NET is somewhat a competitor with Java, and they may collide, in some cases, although this is very rare. I suggest you concentrate on .NET.
