I included a picture below to show what I mean. I tried adding "iCloud" to the bookmark bar and it replaced two letters with three dots. Since "iCloud" is such a short word, this seems unnecessary.

The reason I'm posting here is that this seems to be something specific to Windows 7, not just safari. Safari on a Mac doesn't do this. It doesn't happen on previous versions of Windows either. I already posted on Apple's Support forums but no one seems to have an answer as to why this happens with Windows 7 or how to disable it.

Any assistant would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Solution
It seems like you're encountering an issue with the display of the bookmark name in Safari on Windows 7 where part of the name is replaced with three dots. This issue is specific to Windows 7 and not observed on Safari for Mac or other Windows versions. To address this problem, you can try a few troubleshooting steps:

Potential Solutions:

  1. Edit Bookmark Name:
    • Try editing the bookmark name to a shorter version or a different text to see if the issue persists.
    []Clear Cache and Cookies:
    • Clear the cache and cookies in Safari to see if it resolves the display issue.

    ]Windows Display Settings:

    ]Compatibility Mode:
    • Try running Safari in compatibility mode on Windows 7 to see if it makes any difference. If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be a compatibility issue specific to Safari on Windows 7. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, the lack of answers on Apple's Support forums indicates that this might be a less common issue. Do you want to try any of these suggestions, or would you like further assistance with this problem?
